I'd rather see them have a diesel option that gets way more MPG than what we're seeing now. If you want to make it a turbo diesel, that would be just fine with me :D

I'd much rather have a turbo gasser than a turbo diesel. The increase in cost of the diesel fuel and engine offset any mpg gains for years and years. Not to mention it's easier when I have only one fuel type for my dirt bikes and truck. :lol3

Here is an interesting, and fun to watch, video on the steps other makers are taking to actively enhance their products. I figured it kind of fits here since the original discussion involved the new EcoBoost engine Ford is offering with their F-150 trucks. My last car (a daily driver) ran the 1/4 mile in around 12.6 seconds and that was "fast" in my opinion, never had any problems destroying about 90% of the cars I met on the road....10 and 11 second times out of a streetable vehicle is just bad-ass in my opinion.

Oh and I might add that the 4.0 has plenty of power until I take it over a 11,000 ft mountain pass with a load in the bed and/or a trailer. Naturally aspirated engines suck in the mountains. :D

I agree with you here but I would like to see a 9spd ZF transmission on the V6 and a better geared 6spd manual tranny too. Dreaming I know :)

I've experienced this first hand. It's bad enough that I thought something might actually be wrong with the truck even though I KNEW it would happen lol!

I'll look at the fords when they put the 3.2 inline 5 diesel in their trucks, the same engine they are using for the transit van in the USA. Gas price vs diesel shouldn't be that much different with turbo gas engines. I wouldn't put anything but premium 93 in any turbo gas engine. If Ford would bring the Ranger with the 3.2 to the USA, I would be trading my Taco for that, instead I'm trading it in for a 2015 taco. And I don't get the huge diesel engine tax that you have to pay with VW's and Ram, ecodiesel vs the Hemi. How can Mercedes make the msrp lower for the diesel GLK 4matic vs the GLK 4matic gas, yet with other diesel cars there's a huge price increase
