    So about a year ago i put strip lighting LED's in the passenger side Bed of the truck, I ran 2 wires to a switch, one from the switch to ground and the other to the front of the truck. I added an Inline fuse and attached to the battey. Works great.

    So here is my problem. I added another 6' strip to the driver side and wanted to join into the 1 wire going to the battery so it would be on the same switch. So i connected 1 wire to ground and the other to the original wire going to the battery. It works but when i turn off the switch the New driver side LED's stay on and the other side goes off.
    Is there any way i can change this so I don't have to add another on/off switch?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Sounds like you spliced the wiring before the switch, move the switch further down towards the battery or move the splice past the switch. Got any pics?

    Can you describe your connections / routing a bit better.

    Example:
    +Bat -----> Fuse---->Switch Terminal 1, Switch Terminal 2 ----> LED Strip +,
    LED Strip Neg. ----> ground (at body panel)

    Can you describe the switch? Does it have an ON-OFF-ON action or just ON-OFF?
    Are there more than 2 terminals to the switch?

    If there are more than 2 terminals to the switch, can you aslo describe the wiring pattern. Describe which is the top terminal, center, or bottom terminal.

    Thanks

    i dont have any pictures at the moment . The switch is in the side bed of the truck. Its not this exact one but this is it .. http://www.hardwarestore.com/on-off-toggle-switch-2-pole-601547.aspx

    The Leds worked great where i had the switch. I just wanted to add more to the other side.
    So i spliced into the Original Wire ( Under the Truck going to fuse/battery.) I connected the hot to the original wire and the other to the frame of the truck. Sorry Im not the best with electrical things. So i realized i should of spliced into the wire before the on/off switch.

    so based on your description, the second LED unit you have connected directly to Battery via a Fuse, and to Ground, without any switch at all in the circuit.

    Here's what I understand from your description so far:

    1st LED unit you installed as:

    BAT+ ---->[FUSE]------>[LED1 +, LED1 neg] --->[SW1,SW2]---->GROUND

    2nd LED added as :
    BAT+ ---->[FUSE-]----->[LED1 +, LED1 neg] --->[SW1,SW2]---->GROUND
    ................................|---->[LED2 +, LED2 neg]---------------------->GROUND

    Would that be accurate?

    or you may have, based on your description , both Battery + and ground go through switch like this?

    BAT +----[FUSE]-------[SW1 \ SW2]---------[LED1 +]
    GND---------------------[SW3 \ SW4]-------- [LED1 -]

    and then added LED#2 as:

    BAT +----[FUSE]-------[SW1 \ SW2]---------[LED1 +]
    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . |------------------------[LED2 +]

    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . |------------------------[LED2 -]
    GND---------------------[SW3 \ SW4]-------- [LED1 -]

    which means LED#2 is connected to your power wires before the switch.

    The same switch lever has two separate switches inside, cause that's the example the OP gave. Based on OPs description, he ran both leads from the LEDs to the front of the truck to connect to a switch, then connected to Battery via Fuse, and to Ground. Trying to help OP figure this out, with OP's limited info.

    :devil: you're being such a dick. :laugh:

    EDIT: actually are the diagrams I left that confusing? ----- is a wire, [zzz] is an electrical device, | is a connection to the existing wire.
