I love to ski, but you don't get much snow in central Florida. As such, I'm a frustrated "occasional" skier.
Born in Plzen CZ, 49 years ago, started skiing at 3 (according to my mother), dropped out for a while when we moved to FL, picked it up again around my mid 20s, still ski if I can convince the wife to vacation somewhere near a ski mountain. Big fella, 6'1 200lbs, so the knees are feeling it by day 2. Most of my action shots look like this:

I will be taking them along with my snow shoes. We will see the skis would be an awesome way to trek out the elk In quarters. It would be the fastest. Most likely going to an area I can't use my atvs.

Great place, and I'll try to get back next year. My wife had a good time at the local casino, so a repeat trip is in the works. I'm easy to spot on the slopes

Question for those that ski in CO a lot.....last year I had the WP/Copper pass, I need to decide this week to renew or I am considering the Keystone/Abasin pass. Wife and I will ski maybe 6 Saturdays this winter, with maybe 4 midweek days. Never been to Keystone, but I really like Copper. WP is nice cuz you can avoid the tunnel.... Any thoughts?

    stuff

You really can't go wrong either way. I switched from the Keystone/A-Basin to Copper/WP this year, just to change it up (and avoid tunnel traffic). Keystone has been my favorite resort for years. If you have never been there, I would definitely recommend it. Not sure what you're into skiing, but they have some of everything, from long blue 'runners' to nice back-country, to one of the best terrain parks in the nation. Also, Keystone has night skiing, so you can keep skiing select runs until 7:00pm while everyone else sits in traffic. A-Basin, I haven't been to in a few years. They added a new lift a couple years back that greatly increased their accessible terrain. It's a small resort with mostly steep intense terrain and a lot of moguls. They try to stay open until July 4, and have several times. You can also take Loveland Pass rather than going through the tunnel and down to Silverthorne, and it spits you right into A-Basin or Keystone. Plus, the Key/A-Basin pass is much cheaper, and there's nothing wrong with that! Hope that helps. :D

Thank! For us it comes down to crowds, wo/copper never felt packed. I've heard breckenridge can get pretty bad. We both like long blues, so copper was nice for that.

Went to the Vermont showing of Redbull/Matchsticks Production's Days of My Youth last night.
Got to meet/chat with freeskier Michelle Parker who was in the film & that was awesome.
Lots of swag was given out but I didn't win anything.
The film was great, Alan Watts narrating, crazy drops especially a straightline by Cody Townsend &
was a departure from the usual storyline seen in extreme skiing video.
Got me pumped for the upcoming season!

...personal decision... if it were me, i'd rather go WP/copper, ...I like the terrain better at those two, when compared against keystone/a-basin, ...always liked to ski the bowls at copper! keystone does have the night skiing, so that may appeal to you (more skiing...), but i'm not as much a fan of their terrain, other than the one peak w/ the gladed blues and blacks (can't remember the name)... never was a fan of a-basin...

don't worry, you're not alone, ....I believe the technical characterization of that is "apres ski" :D
