Great addition, stealing it to add a shoe net under the ladder.

Edit: ha, just looked at the previous page...

For those of you with wandering anti-booty mats...no idea if this will work but in theory it should. I sewed a 1" d-ring to the top of the mat where the velcro strips that hold the mattress in place are then slid the velcro through the ring. Assuming the velcro stays attached to the bottom of the mattress the booty mat should stay put.

    Resurrecting the RTT MOD THREAD!

I know this has been a hot... or *cold* topic for a while, but after looking at a few different options that are considerably cheaper than the masonry pads or the "spider weave" materials... I wander if a a layer of either of these products (reflectix, radiant barrier insulation or Silverboard) would help combat the ever ongoing battle with condensation under the mat in RTTs. The idea seems similar to HVAC insulation. Cold air outside / warm air inside... insulate with radiant reflective material and insulation to create a better barrier between the two extremes of temperatures. I plan to use my RTT in cold weather as much as warm weather without running many, if any heaters. Coming from hammock camping, temperature "buffer zones" are a must to keep condensation out of the hammock. Any as as much insulation you can have between you and the cold air the better. Rule of thumb was three layers of insulation below you for every one layer above you. Sleeping bag counted as one above and one below... plus two sleeping pads, or one sleeping pad and an underquilt to create a warmer "buffer zone." Maybe the HVAC insulation or silverboard insulation could help reflect the heat back into the tent, while insulating the floor as well to keep the extremes away from one another.

What the heck is that mat and what is it for? I got one with my tent but it is only 12x12 inches. I thought it was to wipe your feet on at the bottom of the ladder...

I know some of this may be already in this thread, but here is a collection of items I have used to "mod" our RTT:

For shoes and clothing, we use two of these inside the RTT, I'm 6'-0" and it fits on the foot of my sleeping bag and doesn't really get in the way. They $7 and fold flat when you don't use them, just leave them in the RTT.

For Lighting we use this light/fan combo that has been mentioned before, works really well, a little bulky and uses standard D batteries as i recall. $11 is cheap! :

It's an anti booty sweat mat AKA anti condensation mat. The small bit may just be a pad to protect the tent from the ladder rubbing on it while closed :notsure:

I used to use Christmas lights and hang them on around the RTT (girlfriend loves those Pinterest worthy camp vibes pics), but didn't like that I had to plug them into my truck bed and have the ignition on. This was my solution:

$11 LED, AAA battery operated, with remote control and light mode settings
