So, i just bought my 2014 Tacoma in april. i have since put on about 15,000 miles. its been less than six months, so.. no dealership would reasonably assume that ive passed those mileages or that im overdue for any service.

so, how do i get these postcard reminders and then follow ups saying im overdue? i passed both 5000 and 10000 service by about 200 and 600 miles respectively, and got post cards about both being due soon and then overdue.

    anyone noticed this?

they take your monthly avarage...and then guesstimate your next service...if you bring it in after 2 month with 5k they will send the letter out in 4 for your 10k

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Have you been doing the 5000 mile maintenance on your own, or using the Toyota Care? The dealerships keep track of that information to send you reminders based upon the frequency you take your truck in for service.

    And just for good measure

You should wrap your truck in tinfoil to keep them from finding out....... or just use them as a fire starter that's what I did.

Toyota logs in your mileage, which you can check on the Toyota owners site. So if it takes you 62 days to do the first 5000, they'll estimate a card out at 4 months or so. If you increase your driving they won't know until the next cycle. Get a user name/pw setup on http://www.toyota.com/owners/web/pages/home put in your vin and you should see dealer entries.

Yes , the transmitter reports to the NSA which then informs Toyota
