You're right, it isnt so much the backspacing as it is the shape of the steel wheel. I can assure the inside of the wheel touches the caliper if not using a spacer when running the older 4runner 18 hole wheel.

Roger that. Thanks for the info. Il start checking the salvage yards. You don't find they stick out too far with that wheel tire combo? I removed my fenders and am running 4" bs wheels and I'm borderline sticking out to far IMO

Yea you are right that looks great. My wheels stick out a bit farther than that. I may hit up the salvage yards and see what i can find. Thanks again for the help.

What should I ask for a set of 4 255/85/16 with 20k miles on them?

With even tread wear? I would say around $500-600?

Yeah, I'd start around $600 if I were you...could easily negogiate down to $500 if you're trying to clear them out quick and you wouldn't be getting ripped off IMO.

I'm selling my 265/75/16 with 20K and plenty of tread on them for $500, but I posted with that price and won't negotiate down though since I feel like I'm already giving someone a pretty good deal.

Paid $765 for my brand new 255/85r16's two weeks ago from discount tire direct. Free shipping too. (They had their "$100 off $400 or more"...I bought two BFG Mud's then two BFG Muds again for a total of $200 off).

that's not including the $40 per tire to get the discount warranty though, paid for that after I received my tires. The warranty included free mount and balance.

oh yeah...question for you guys...what PSI do you run on a normal "go to work and then home (on paved roads)" day?

Here are some pics from this weekend. Not great but will give you an idea. Love them so far. Not terribly loud and performed well on some old steep logging roads/light mud/rocks. Lost about 1-2 mpg from stock dunflops.

Yeah they really transform the truck. Really aggressive looking while having good road manners considering. I have a long commute and this is my dd so these tires are just about perfect for me. Only time will tell about wear and winter performance.

I've run the 255 size from the beginning. Its also the size I ran on my old Rover. I simply like the aesthetics and don't want to run any other tire. The Cooper ST's have about 35k on them and have been pretty good. I had a bullshit sidewall puncture that I never really understood (Bush root...) but other then that they've been great.

I plan to run the ST Maxx's next.

I have 255/85 KM2's, a 5 speed, and 3inch toytec lift. I get better mpg with these tires. No noticeable loss in power.
