ok, I have studied the fuel filter replacement videos

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hXO2ph9XCY

and one thing is crystal clear, its just dumb IMHO to put the filter back on in that hard to get to and work on location so my plan is to just remove the old filter and bracket and then remount it onto the drivers fender well, down under the fuel line connection and run a new rubber fuel line to the fitting for the fuel rail. to do this I will just cut off and peel off the hose crimp collars to add a new line to it and clamp it in place.

I have done things like this to replace dried up worn hoses before and its easy to dremel off the crimp collars and then cut and peel the old hoses right off to replace the hose with a new one. the only unknown is the size of fuel line I need which I will find out when I cut it.

all the stock connecting points and fittings will be reused so everything is still stock connections and a new stock replacement fuel filter will be installed.

why would you want to mount something back in such a hard to reach area when there is a better option?

im asking if anyone out there has any thoughts why this isn't a good idea to do it?

I don't have anything really helpful to add except that I paid a shop to do the fuel filter. Knew it was a bitch to do. Even the shop had minor issues replacing it.
