I have mine mounted on the left side of the dash. I used one half of a conduit clamp that I found at work. Rounded end slips in between dash pieces. Applied glue to their end and used the clamp holder from a Goxt cell phone holder to glue to the conduit clamp. My original holder broke.

I think this is the best solution I've seen yet, I like how clean and isolated it is, definitely going to try this myself. What dash pieces specifically did you use?

So I gotta ask how exactly did you mount it there? Did you screw it in, double sided tape/jb weld..etc?

    I like how this looks.

    Thanks,

Decided to finally install the UltraGauge I bought a month ago. I hadn't done it yet because I was planning on mounting and running the cable up the A pillar, which would require disconnecting the battery to avoid possible airbag sensor tripping. I didn't want to disconnect the battery without first jotting down all of my custom head unit settings. Well, plan B. Saved myself the hassle and just mounted it over the TRD Sport's blank switch covers, next to the USB/AUX input. Took 5 minutes. I ran the cable into the cubbie on the right side of the steering wheel, then between the bottom of the steering column and the cover. No cutting, had to remove nothing and the cable isn't seen. Used the vertical mount from UltraGauge and just trimmed it down to 1.5" x 2", the size of the two switch blanks. The buttons on the rear of the UltraGauge are easily accessible and I left plenty of extra cable in the cubbie. Very happy with it. Easy for me to read, yet not easily seen from outside, especially with tinted windows.

Using the vertical surface mount in the upper left corner of the windshield. Out of the way, easy to see, and discreet. Install took literally 10 minutes. Remove A pillar trim(two 10mm bolts) and it comes right off with no prying. Drop UG OBD connector between pillar and dash and install.

    too many lights
This thread is pretty old but I came here looking for ideas yesterday so wanted to contribute back with my own setup. I used a guy wire tensioner I had laying around in camping supplies from my hammocks and mounted that under the forward visor screw. The Ultragauge with the included mount clip it comes with just slides directly onto the tensioner with nothing holding it on other than a tight fit and friction. Wire ran down through pillar and under dash for a clean install. It has held on for roughly 20 miles so far with no movement and the buttons couldn't be easier to get to! Visor movement is reduced to about 45 degrees but I don't use it in front of me anyway and there is no issue rotating it over to the door.

It slips down in between the dashboard and the trim piece with the a/c vent on it. Just used a small screwdriver to separate the two pieces to get the conduit clamp to slip in.

Mounted mine in front of the RPM gauge. I can still see up to 2500 rpm and there are no idiot dash lights in the top section of the rpm gauge so nothing is blocked besides the higher rpm which I normally never reach anything over 3000rpm. Also, I tried in the bottom left and upper left of the windshield and near the rear view mirror but didn't like that my visibility was hindered or that the gauge would be in direct sunlight and in view of thieves. Here it's much less obvious and can't be seen through my tinted windows unless you are specifically looking for it. I used the horizontal surface mount and routed the wire around the outside fo the rpm gauge and down through the steering column.

Looking at the mount option on the ultragauge gauge website. It looks as though both the vertical and horizontal mounts are curved. How well do they stick to the windshield near the rear view mirror? Also which is the suggested mount for near the mirror?

I put mine above my rearview mirror with the horizontal pivot mount. You can hide the cable the whole way down and it's a nice location that's easy to glance up at.
