My 2013 Tacoma just had a tree fall on it! This truck "was" in perfect condition with only 5 thousand miles on it and not a scratch to be seen.

Now I get to play with AAA insurance and see what they will/won't do for me

I'm betting that they will want to fix it (with used parts) but I would rather it just be totaled.

If that happens and I have the option of taking the $$ and parting out the truck what do you think the chances are of finding somebody here that would want to buy the whole truck as is???

Like I said its a 2013 v6 ,at,4x4 TRD off road with only 5k on it.......I've done three oil changes on it and had the frame rust proofed.

The only damage to the truck is body related, Bent roof, bed side, door etc...mechanically it's like a brand new truck .

What do you say, anybody interested???

If you end up parting out, if the center console piece is black I'd take that off ya. Hope it all gets worked out soon though, I know that's gotta suck.

    How bad is it?

I had a tree fall on my BMW and it fixed up just fine with all new OEM parts. You seriously couldn't tell the difference.

Granted, the damage was realtively minor. It just clipped the front of my hood.

Op, with so few of miles and the truck relatively still new. It most definitely will not be totaled. AAA is a great insurance company and will take care of you on this, do your homework and find the best shop, with best reviews and tell them you want to take your truck there, and not the shop they recommend.

Worst of this will be possibly diminished value, which will occur when the repair work shows up on a Carfax report.

If they decide to total it, I'd just let them have it. Parting it out will be nothing but a headache, and I assume being a 2013 there's probably still a lien on it that will need to be paid off. Just my .02.

Unless the cab is compromise then they won't totaled it. It' just going to get fixed and send you on your way.

You own the truck outright? Kind of unusual for such a new Taco, but who knows. A tree branch fell onto my dads truck before and damaged the roof, bed, and left rear door. How bad is the damage really? Any pics?
