Now that I have a Leer shell on the back, I want to get something to make the bed less slippery. I'd like to be able to put a bag of groceries or a tool box in the back and not have it sliding all over the place.

I kinda like the complete coverage of a Bed Rug, but feeling the carpet I wouldn't think its very non-skid.

In another post, there was a pointer to a rubber looking mat (OEM/TRD) for about $84, that look real nice, but if its hard rubber, stuff will slide around as much as the regular bed.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The OEM rubber mat actually works fairly well. It fits very snug and you shouldnt have any issue with things sliding around on it. If anything you will have issues with stuff falling over before sliding. I've had mine in for about 5 years now and its holding up very well.

Another +1 for the OE bedmat. I tried a DIY carpet deal. Got some cheap carpet from Home Depot, cut it to fit the bed. It was nice because it kept the dogs and everything else from sliding around, but got super nasty dirty and didn't really clean up easily. The rubber is nice because you can just spray it off.

No worries with the TRD bed mat, it's really soft rubber, but durable. It will come rolled up and wrapped in some plastic. It's also got all sorts of texture to make it grip.

To went to habor freight tools and got those mover blankets for like 5$ works great and worse case I use it to do oil changes and anything else while working on the truck. If it gets really bad I toss it I feel I got its use for 5$ I've used 2 in the pass couple of yrs and if they get wet let it dry out over night and good to good

Just got a Bed rug under my Leer going to install a sheet of Plywood under the Rug because I do not want to drill in the bed to secure the Snaps more better drilling into the Ply I hope this will keep it from moving around

+1 on the OEM rubber bed mat. I have mine since the day I bought the truck and I love it. It is very easy to clean and it is durable as s%&t! and nothing slides around. Mine was much cheaper than $85, I believe I paid 65 shipped from Concelli toyota of PA.

Another vote for the oem mat here. I've abused the hell out of mine, and it's still as good as new.

I have had the Dee Zee mat for the life of the truck and it's done great. This past summer I bought a $10 indoor/outdoor carpet that I cut to fit. Made the bed nice and cozy and things stayed put pretty well.
