ah ok, and from looking it seems the oem switch has a 15 minute timer built into it, I could be wrong though.

Your right, it has a timer if you forget to push the switch to turn them off. I agree with you on the new style mirrors, they look similar to the ones on my IS250.

Ok a little help here.. So I have a 14' Trd Sport Tacoma that has the side mirrors with the turn indicators in the front, that's the only thing that it has, and they are electronically adjustable.. So theoretically what parts would I need to make them heated? Living in the PNW calls for a needed heated mirrors. I know that the 2010 4runner mirrors look identical in size and shape, but what would I need to do electrically speaking to allow them to mount to my truck? Like could I use my wiring harness? would I need to run extra wires for the heat to work? I know I'll need a switch from a Highlander to fit into the slot right next to the fog light switch to the left of the steering column. Thanks in advance and sorry for the essay..

The 4runner mirrors will bolt on your mounts and your wiring harness should work for the power movement of the mirrors and you will need 2 or 3 wires for each side for heat and foot lamps. I had a friend of mine at a car audio shop wire mine, all wires can be installed in the wire loom through the door hinge area, so it looks factory installed with the Highlander switch.

I did, but I noticed that they were using the mirror itself from the sienna.. Is there a difference between using the 4runner mirror and the sienna? Like is one more compatible than the other? That's what I would like to know. Personally, I'd rather not mess with the internals of the mirror but rather add a few wires to the loom and have a better fit and finish. But I just want to be informed before I start dropping money into this project and then half way through, realize that I should've gone the other route.

Well the 4Runner is the whole housing...when the sienna is just the mirror insert itself

So pretty much, the 4Runner is a simple plug and play + add a few wires and you're good to go?

    nope.
it bolts up perfect with your stock "L" mirror brackets on the doors but its not plug and play at all...need to either cut and wires and solder them together or make youre own plugs etc.

yes but you have to you your stock L brackets (4runners are different) and run your own new wiring into both doors

I could still run into that, I just took a quick look at the brackets, I've got my fingers crossed that this install goes smooth. Thanks everyone for all the info posted so far. Considering those mirrors only cost $135 Its not too much of a risk.

Just finished installing, they matched up perfectly. Must not be the exact same as the pair you had. No shaking either. Only thing I notice is the passenger mirror has warped affect to it. May be a cheaper quality mirror.
