But they claim it's good for 15,000 miles so 2 more jugs will last me 4 years

I change mine at 3K regardless not to start another oil debate :deadhorse:

Better safe than sorry man. If you have the resources send some of your oil off for analysis and you will get a better idea of how long you can go between OCI. There's a forum called Bob's The Oil Guy that has lots of data and you can get a pretty good idea from that and other users with similar vehicles, geographical location & driving habits. I currently change the oil (including OEM filter) in both of my vehicles every 5k and check it at every fuel fill up. Past vehicles I went much longer but there's a ton of factors and you're right, this isn't the place to debate OCI.

I can get 6 qts of Mobil 1 5W-30 synthetic for $4.50 a qt. 6 times a yr. w/o having to fiddle with a mail in rebate that may or may not happen.
I won't ask you to do the math and factor in the "hassle" factor as it may not register in your case.

People who use post count as a gauge show their ignorance, but then I just said that in the last sentence of the previous paragraph.

The post count comment was more of disbelief that you have mostly lurked and felt the need to post.... that.

So you can get 5qts for $22.50 before tax... kind of like I mentioned in this thread. Congratulations on the stellar deal. The real question is why wouldn't you just buy this oil at the SAME PRICE give or take a buck or two total and have a chance to get over half of your money back for the cost of a few minutes of time, an envelope and a stamp? I don't understand how there are people who can try so hard to seem smart that they outsmart themselves on something so simple. Like I could have said that the oil was $10 and the rebate was $100 and I already got mine for a net of paying me $90 to take oil and you would have been in here talking about how your 5qts for $22.50 is somehow still a better deal than the $10 investment with a potential to make $90.

Maybe this topic just isn't for you.

My wife is like why are you buying so much oil. Bought 2 jugs of 0w-20 for her pilot and 2 jugs of 5w-30 for the tacoma ( althought I wont use it till 2016 !) 20qts for ~$60, great frugal purchase! Will put the pilot under my house and the tacoma under my parents.

I went to Walmart and picked up 2 -5 gal jugs. I asked if they had a rebate form and they looked at me as if I was from Mars. I guess I will use the form from the site. Hope it works.
    Thanks for the replies.

I just talked to "Randy" at Mobil 1 Support and he told me that only the listed companies are eligible for the rebate. Walmart and Autozone purchases will not be honored …

Better tell "Randy" that all the Walmart rebates are being processed and I haven't heard of a single person being denied on the deal forum I'm on where there's thousands that have done the rebate. Feel free to not take the risk though if you really feel it's too much of a gamble.
