I've planned on plugging in a blender to make frozen margaritas after a mountain bike ride, but should probably try it out first around the driveway to see if it will power it...

Most consumer-level solid state DC to AC inverters that I tested when I was in electronics school produced a stepped square wave versus a true sine wave so I would presume that the Tacoma's inverter does too. I don't have access to an oscilloscope anymore (can't justify spending a thousand dollars for even a cheap one to use as a hobby) so I cant test for sure.

I just went back over and tried some other stuff at the shop to see if it would run. I found a few things that seem to run just fine on the Tacoma's inverter. As you will notice, these are mainly high-rpm/low-load tools with universal motors.

Nothing much with an induction motor or a universal motor over 1 horsepower worked right, if it turned at all. However, the following all worked like a charm:

3/4 horsepower angle grinder (unless you press hard)
    150 W halogen work light
    Random orbital sander
    Dremel moto tool
    Oscillating room fan
    Hot glue gun
    DeWalt 12 V charger

3/8" drills work but don't have a lot of torque. For instance, I could drill 1/4" holes and drive 2 1/2" deck screws into soft pine but the drill bogged down when trying to drive lag screws.

I've used it to charge up the RV, run sump pumps during a power outage, sawzall, electric rototiller, LED work light and even LED Christmas lights.

Hmm some people can't even power a drill with theirs, while I've used mine with an electric chainsaw to cut 4" thick limbs with ease...

After hurricane sandy hit long island, my house was out of power for over a week. Until I got my hands on my brothers generator it powered a laptop to play dvds for my kids as well as a tabe lamp at the same time.
Also used it on on the side of the road to cut off my tailpipe after it was squashed flat after getting rear ended. I just happen to buy the sawzall that day!

Drill and hammer drill, jig saw, while installing signs.

I also have a larger 1600 Coleman. I use connected to my battery for larger tools.
