Hello everyone, long time toyota owner recently obtained a 99 tacoma that had been used on a hunting lease, had been abused and I was able to pick it up for a good price.

    Current toyotas:

    99 single cab tocama
96 T-100 which is my everyday truck

97 tacoma that was given to my daughter after she finished high school.

My reason for joining is because I will have a lot of questions during the rebuild project.

Moderators are probably looking at my username and thinking "oh great, another spammer" because of numbers in my username.

756951 is the zip code for Jasper Texas.

Welcome aboard, Kevin! Let's see some pics of the 99!

    Thank you for the welcome.

Just your typical 99 tacoma that has had a rather rough life.

Tree limb went through the windshield.
Doors were taken off and are in the bed.
Rear end ring and pinion gears are stripped.
One of the front hubs is stripped.
The flat tire is being taken to a tire shop here in Jasper to have it put back on the rim.

Previous owner did not want to take the time to fix it, so I got it for a good price. The previous owner even delivered it for me.

Motor, transmission and transfer case are supposed to be good.

Hoping to get the battery charged and see if the motor will turn over tomorrow evening.

Wow, looking forward to seeing it come back to life! Are you going to start a build thread?

Can members have a thread on their individual builds?

Just joined, not sure of rules.

Welcome. Just curious, Kevin, do you do a survival website? I think I saw that on one.

Yes, of course! I have mine linked in my signature. Just make sure it's in the right forum! There's one specifically for 1st Gen builds. If you have any questions or need any help, I can try my best to help.

I grew up and graduated high school in Bridge City class of '86. Then went to Lamar in Port Arthur for a few years.

Currently live in the Jasper area.

Welcome from College Station! Although, I used to live in Livingston and I still have family there! My first Livingston football game was in Jasper but that was when Devin Harris played for Livingston! He is graduated from college now
