I bought thses lights a year ago and they worked well, but were sealed like crap so water got into them and the lenses became discolored. So I decided to open them up, clean them up and give them an amber tint for when the snow season comes.

    Final product.

    Method:

The lenses poped off with a screwdriver.

    crap and discoloration

I then cleaned the lenses, sanded them a lot, wet sanded and added a few coats of this paint.

sanded more and more with HIGH grit. and sprayed a few layers of clear on.

Finally got them wired up and they seem to have a lot of yellow output.

Looks sweet! Mine are getting pretty discolored as well. But I think that's from accidentally spraying bug spray on them...:anonymous: and one has some condensation too.

Yeah it was an easy task.
When I opened them up it seemed like the glue they used was a hard epoxy that dried out and cracked and eventually let the water in. So when I resealed them I used a softer silicone that should seal them up for the long haul.

Nice job Rucas, after seeing these on the road and trail yesterday, I'm impressed.
