Good morning all!! I hope you are feeling better today, Charlie!!! By your posts, it seems as if the drugs are keeping the pain manageable.

So, forgive me but I have to share. One of our relatives showed up at our place unannounced on Monday afternoon and proceeded to bury their dead cat on our property. Didn't ask for permission; didn't ask where might be appropriate. They just dug a hole in front of a tree given to us by our nephew and his wife as thanks for letting them hold their wedding on our property. We placed that tree on the spot they were married - my asshole relatives plant their cat right in front of it. Then yesterday they call my mother in law and tell her they will be back today to put a marker on the grave.

Ummm. No. That isn't going to happen. They wont answer their phone so I left a love note on the grave telling them they have until 4 today to move it. After that, I have a "shovel ready" project that will be completed by 5.

    What a**holes!

It would save a whole lot of grief, and the results would be the same if a stray dog dug up the cat and hauled it off. A little digging with all the dirt thrown one direction, a few toe nail marks put around the hole with an object like a screwdriver or awl, and the nitwits would blaming some poor dog. The bonus would be the perpetual laugh you would have at the relative's expense.

Other than that, all I can say is good morning. The sun will be up in about 40 minutes, and with luck it will be bright and cheerful out there today.

Nothing major or fancy. Just stuff to make it work better for me. Running boards, seat covers, BakFlip
Charlie...good to see that you're getting better. Amen on the friends. A couple of years ago I had a log roll onto my legs and if it wasn't for my friends I would have probably lost my livelihood. They took care of things while I was healing up and even helped out after I was ambulatory again. I hope I get a chance to repay the favors.

On sharpening chains...in my spare time I run the volunteer trail clearance crews for a local Land Trust. They're good people but none of them are professional cutters and their chain sharpening skills were all over the board.

I bought them two of these....http://www.timberlinesharpener.com/ and things got better immediately. It trues up the cutting angle on the top plate and gets all the teeth the same length. It's dead simple to use and now, instead of spending my free time sharpening chains for the crew or having impromptu filing classes, we're getting some cutting done.

On depth gauges it's always good to keep them filed down exactly the same height. If some are lower than others the chain won't self-feed and can get real grabby. That's hard on clutches and can lead to breaking chains.

    Keep on getting well.

Wow, lots of great chainsaw advice. Thanks Charlie and Bob!

Mark, we bury our cats on our property - not other people's! You're nicer than I would have been. That cat would be back at their house in a bag already.

Reminds me of a neighbor where I used to live. They had a pond on their property and the Canadian geese would hang out there sometimes. Another neighbor's dog was always getting loose and one time it came down and tore up one of the geese. Pond guy put the carcass in a box, dropped it on the dog owner's doorstep, and told them "next time it will be your dog in the box".

Well, the message was received and the cat has been removed. Just total arrogance. I heard my brother in law was none too happy to be digging the cat up in the rain. Suck it up, buttercup.

    Blues:cool:,,, Disco:puke:

I dont have a video cam.. I like riding the new bike unlike my old Mountain bike that was starting to hurt the lower back & hips. Just did not want to ride it anymore:(. Had the bike shop trade out the banana seat that was on it, looked cool but it hurt to ride also.. The soft fat boy seat with springs is great for long rides to the coffee shop in the AM:cool:
