Because sometimes "your word against their word" isn't enough for cops. A dashcam negates those fraudulent a-holes driving around out there.

Thats a pretty cool video, i have always thought that it looked so funny the way people walk on a time lapse video, lol. Like they are on crack or something, its just funny, lol

 

Yeah, these dash cams are becoming very popular nowadays, especially with idiotic drivers on the road. Would not be surprised to see front and rear cams become the "standard". Video can go a long way to telling the full story. The only caveat is, that it can also catch *you* doing something silly.

 

Real nice video quality on the cam, I would like to add that protection from all the yahoos driving around these days. But it was a fail for not being blinded by the sun off a skewp.

 

As others said, for insurance reasons. A cue from the Russians. The other driver can't claim a lie when you have proof. Albuquerque drivers are some of the worst in the US I've come across. $100 is a small price to pay.

It is a 2 way street though, lol. I do seem to pay more attention to the little details with the camera on.

 

I agree with having a dash cam and heading out to get one today.
Had some asshole pull out in front of me yesterday from a side street and almost rear ended him, I slammed on the brakes and moved to the left to avoid the hit but he kept moving in the direction as if he wanted me to rear end him it was very close.
Typically when you rear end someone its your fault and it would have been hard for me to prove it was his without a dash cam showing what actually happened so yea I'm getting one for protection against people not paying attention on the road.

 

Yup, something like that is what finally pushed me over the edge. I had been thinking about getting one, but a couple weeks ago 2 of us almost t-boned some dumb woman (Why is it always a woman?) ran a red light after it had been green for us for a while. I would have demolished her drivers door and the guy next to me would have demolished the rest. Got to test my brakes though, they still work.

 

So you guys with dash cams have it on when on road and erase everything when you get home?
