    I added a bolt once...
I have 2014 TRD Sport with backup camera. At morning/night there is a dark spot at center. I wanted to add lights and am not a electrical wizz...

I have the Husky step bar on the back so I used that as a mounting point. This way, when I remove the bar to tow a utility trailer, the lights come off also.

Use a piece of kydex plastic for the base plate, cut to fit, drill holes for mounting to bar and lights. Lights are $18 from Walmart. I hooked these up to a 7-pin male trailer connection ($9). Heat tape everything, installed onto bar (existing 3/8" bolt hole) and it's done.

Each light has a white (+) and black (-) wire. The lights come with wire and quick connects. I connected the whites and blacks at the "Y" junction in my harness (covered with heat tape) the just ran the white/black wire to the 7-pin connector.

    7-pin connection:
a small screw lets this come apart...
Take apart and run the wires from the light thru the connector end.
Attach the white (+) wire to the center connection
Attach the black (-) wire to the connection marked "white" on the 7-pin
Google "7-pin Tacoma connections" and you'll get the diagrams.

Still messing the aim but much more light.

How did you hook them up to the 7 pin?

The 7-pin is made for this kind of DIY hook up. Available just about anywhere trailer parts can be found.
