Just thought I would post my experiences with our blower motor problems. Mine would all of a sudden not work until I reached under the dash and smacked it with my hand. That worked for prob 6 months until last night, I hopped in and smacked the bottom of the motor as usual and nothing. Long story short, did some research on here and looked in to all the usual suspects, resistor, burnt wire or connector etc. all of these looked good and I had voltage going to the motor. So I dropped the motor turned on the switch and bump started it by hand and it started working again. I took the motor out removed a plastic cover followed by a metal cover on the back, opposite the fan blade to expose the motor windings. Man were they dirty. Went to advance auto and bought some CRC electric parts cleaner and sprayed it all down, let dry, and put back together. Now she's running like a champ. Saved me from buying a new motor at the stealership. Hope this helps somebody else too. Below are some pics

Sorry, having a tough time uploading more than one pic at a time. This is the metal cap under the plastic cap. Undo this to expose the motor windings and brushes.

Nice! Good to know. Every few months I need to smack mine and it starts right back up. Haven't had it completely shit the bed yet. When it happens I'll make sure to clean the connections.

This is what my motor looked like. Filthy, no wonder it couldn't spin on its own.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
This I'll have to try. I've been playing with this for a year or more. Thanks!

Thanks so much for this. I cleaned my blower motor (it didn't look as bad as yours, but about 3/4 of the way there), cleaned the resistor contacts and cleaned and tightened the resistor electrical connector contacts. I spent $8 and hope that's all I'll need to spend for a while. :)
