spotted the truck on my way back from Toronto super cross race in 2013.
ended up stopping in and taking it for a test drive the next week and bought it. I originally wanted a access cab but in the end I am glad I got the double cab.
I race dirt bikes and naturally like customizing everything I have to meet my exact liking.

it rolled off the lot with the following
    2007 Toyota Tacoma
    trd off road
    double cab
    sr5
    v6
    k&n air intake system
    flow master muffler
jet v force plus performance module

I then found Tacoma world and started researching what options I have for upgrades and with Tacoma's its endless.

I made a game plan to get new rims and tires before winter and follow that up with a lift kit.

I ended up buying 265/75/16 cooper stt and 16x8 4.5 back spacing method nv rims in black.
the tires took my fuel mileage from18 city high way to16 city highway

    LIFT KIT UPDATE 12/27/14
I have now been riding 3 inches higher for about a month.
i went with the toytech boss lift.

    my kit included
toytec boss front coil overs and sway bar relocation kit
    boss rear shocks
    dakar rear leaf springs
    dakar extended u bolt kit
    light racing uca
oc taco red extended front and rear break lines.

with the help of a friend we had the lift installed in 7hrs. The only snag we had was a sway bar mount nut in the boxed in frame. it locked up on us due to rust. in the end we cut it off and and replaced it with a new grade 8 nut and bolt
the only other issue we ran into was the rear shocks appearing to be too short. by about 3 inches at full axils droop with the new Dakar
i called Toytec they told me that it was fine and that the Dakar would settle and the shock would not be harmed. i then asked ok well what if the shock doesn't hold up under full flex and droop and it pulls apart. they stated that it has never happened and that they would replace them free of charge

Stock ride height (top of hub lip to fender lip)
    FRONT
    DS 18.5 PS 18.5

    REAR
    DS 20.25 PS 20.25

    After lift
    FRONT
    DS 20.5 PS 20.5

    REAR
    DS23.5 PS20.5

AFTER TIGHTENING COILS 4 TURN (4 TURNS EQUALED A TOTAL OF .45 IN OF SPRING COMPRESSION)
    FRONT
    DS 21.5 PS 21.5

1 MONTH CHECK UP = NO SETTLING OF SPRINGS

i was going to wait for the rear Dakars to settle before adjusting my front coil overs but i needed to get it aligned and dint want to have to get it aligned again after tightening the coil overs.

so the night before the alignment i bought a spring compressor for $35 took the coils out and adjusted them. it was quite the chore as the compressor i bought was the style that clamps onto the spring and it was hard to fit into the open slots on the spring.

once i had the spring compressed i took the top castle nut off the could over, took the top hat off, took the spring off, and then tightened the lock rings 4 complete turns on each side. "hopping this was enough to bring the front up to 3 inches"

in the end i got a full 3in light it rides great and i have no complaints.

Lift looks good, can you give an update on how you like the dakars with the rear BOSS shocks.

I am looking at this for my rear suspension.

    thx. Drew.

No issues at all. They offroad great! I get great flex and obsorption on bigger hits now. Also can handle a lot more weight now when towing. I hauled an inclosed trailer last weekend with 3 dirt bikes and it had no issues. Even got 11.5 mpg !!!
