Function, living in montana hunting getting into mud and huge ruts I need some more clearance. I'm curious as to a reasonable price range, if I get seperate shocks and suspension or just buy the entire kit for a 3" lift front and back. I have nothing done to my truck but a K&N air filter but I really would like to start getting my ride better looking. I think I will also replace my filter with a cold air intake instead.

    Getting there...
Budget would be 5100's with an add a leaf or OME with an add a leaf. The general consensus on this forum is that the K&N air filter isn't good if you plan on going off road. OEM is less maintenance and proven reliability. And a CAI doesn't seem to do much without other performance upgrades.

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
I am running Billie 5100 at the 1.75 setting in the front and TSB 4 leaf on my '11 AC and 265/75-16 AND 265/70-17 fit perfectly with FACTORY WHEELS with no rub and no trimming...

I am NOT a big fan of K&N air cleaners. The factory intake works just fine. Now a Borla catback exhaust would be on my list. I also live up in the mountains and clearance is good.

AAL in the rear and Fox 2.0 front coilovers. I love the ride of these and you can adjust height to setup how you like your trucks stance.

    ^ This.

You can get a full OME kit with Dakars from Toytec for $1,133 (after the 5% TW discount).

Remember once you start approaching 3" of lift, you'll need new upper control arms, which are $400+. If you keep it at 2.5", you can probably stick with your OEM upper control arms.

Alternatively, you may want to consider a more moderate 2" OME lift, using lighter coil springs in the front, and an AAL or progressive 3 leaf pack in the rear. That would keep your lift at about $800, and give you plenty of clearance for dirt roads and moderate offroading. Check my build for this option.

You can do 3" with the OME. Just depends on your coil choices. Usually on a double cab with no bumper or winch, I suggest the 885 coils with a 10mm Enhancer kit. This will get you close to 3" while still keeping the ride good.

The total I got from TT was $1134.29 and that does not include the carrier bearing drop, you got to compare apples to apples.... just saying :p

I'm guessing since you are an 06, the stock leafs are sagging. An AAL will not last long. Best bet would be to replace the leaf pack entirely. Ask me how I know..lol

Haha that's what I'm thinking also, experience it first hand? Have you experienced any strain on your front end, any problems with tie rides or anything?
