Would a TACO survive this hit, or break in 2?

This accident happened this morning near my house. The 18 year old girl was airlifted, not sure of her condition. But my thoughts are with her and her family, especially being a father. The bridge had ice on it as temps dipped well before freezing overnight.

Apparently our Tacoma's aren't the only ones with rusty frames, wonder why there wasn't a recall on the GM's?

What's crazy is she slid into oncoming traffic and a Volvo SUV basically drove right through it.. Yikes.

Absolutely terrible this happened.

 

I now feel kind of like a puke posting this, if anything it's just a reminder to drive safe especially in the WINTER! Not to be paranoid but I hope my "treated" frame would withstand a hit like this.

I can't believe that snapped in half.
Volvo's are extremely safe cars, had a few older volvos myself and few members in the family have them. But still...

 

Holy crap. I hope the poor girl recovers.

 

I've been checking daily on facebook and other internet sources for updates. As of today she's still in critical condition. It's just plain terrible, the parents were probably thinking there was some piece of mind putting her in a "truck". Still blows me away that it sheared in two like that.

 

Good Lord I hope she survived and makes a recovery, that is a fucking brutal impact

 

Look at that frame. No question the frame rust was a factor in that thing splitting in half. Hope the girl pulls through ok.

 

Who knows, maybe the frame shearing off made lessened the severity of the accident.
