wheel purchase imminent, few ?s

i've settled on some plain jane rockcrawlers from procomp, i just like how simple they look.

my questions are...

if they're in 17x9 will i have any problems with hitting the calipers? i've read that the 16s will hit the caliper and require grinding, im not willing to do that.

the backspacing is 4.5". as i understand it, that's the ideal backspacing for 05+ trucks. any opinions? will this save my ucas from being rubbed? i will eventually be running 265/75 tires, if i can get away with it i'd run 285s, just don't want to trim the body mount.

it doesn't say if it's hub centric or not, will it matter? or are steel wheels already set to a specific one?

just for reference, my truck is lifted 2.5" in front with 5100s and has tc ucas, in the rear i have a 1" block.

thanks for any help you guys can provide, im planning to pick up wheels this coming paycheck (reason why i picked these cheaper wheels too, faster acquisition)

The 17x9" wheels will be fine. I have a 3" lift on mine with stock UCAs and Im running 285/70/17s with no problems. Did minor trimming but none to the body mount. You should be fine. Good Luck.

Yeah I was a little concerned about that, I'll go ask the guys with 16s if their hub centric, hopefully it doesn't matter...

 

i've come across hub centric rings, i guess i can just get those and i should be ok, just gotta figure the measurements...

 

Hows it coming? I have been looking for some wheels at 4wheelparts also, but was also confused as to whether it would cause problems where it says "hub centric: No" can you post a link to where and what kind of rings youre getting?

 

I'm going to get those rock crawlers next week sometime, they are not hubcentric but will fit over the Toyota hubs, according to what I've read as long as the bore diameter of the
after market rim is 108 or higher they'll fit over the Toyota hub.

The rock crawlers are 108, but since it's a little larger than the Toyota wheels bore you might get vibs because of the extra space. I'm going to try and fix it with some acorn style lug nuts that'll center the rim, if that doesn't work I'm gonna run rings, as for what type and from where I'm not sure yet.

I had found a good thread earlier and they op said he had found a site that carried the rings we'd need for a 108 rim, I'll try and find it.

this is the site the op of that thread suggests, as well as the size of the ring. he suggests 108 - 106mm rings, that is, if your aftermarket wheel has a bore diameter of 108, with the rings i assume you'll be back in stock specs. but yeah like i said, im gonna try my acorn lug nuts first.
