You sir are entitled to your opinion, but you will not get near my truck. Beside most diesels do not reply on solid state to fire.

True. I do not enjoy the east coast at all and refuse to travel there for any reason. My dad owned a body/mechanic shop for thirty years. I grew up working there, and I would guess over his lifetime he's welded to at least 5000 gasoline powered cars, and hundreds myself. Welding sheetmetal patch panels with Tig, frame repairs with Mig, even some stick. Guess how may ECU's he's fried? Zero. Guess how many dead cars he's repaired from someone else welding to them? Also Zero. My buddies exhaust shop has three bays and it's packed all day long. He welds to 10-15 cars a day, six days a week, battery hooked up. New diesels, new cars and trucks of all makes, zero ecu failures. It's a myth man. Don't hook the ground up to the ECU or weld directly to it and it will be ok.
