So im looking to run a single sub behind the rear seat. I know i can get everything already built and ready to go from taco tunes but has anyone done anything else, like build their own? Just looking for other ideas, any pics or videos would be great. I know my stuff when it comes to audio, that being said let the bass heads give me some input!:D

I recomend the enclosures from Super Crew Sounds. Especially the double enclosure witht the Amp rack in the middle. i always recomend running two subs over one because two subs double efficiency. Doubling efficiency is equivalent to running 10x more power.

Contact Mr. Marv he will tell you everything you want to know and more im waiting on a box from him now. He will custom build to the sub you are looking to use and if you have no idea just tell him what you are looking to do and he will fill your head with knowledge of all sorts.

Not to be a thread jacker but could you explain the 2 sub =x2 efficiency I am intrigued

For example: 1 - 10 inch sub woofer is supplied with 100 Watts of Power, this configuration yields 100dB of sound output.

2 - 10 inch supplied 100 Watts of Power will yield 103dB of sound output.

The difference of sound output is 3dB which means that two subs given the same power is twice as loud as one which makes sense that two is louder than one because two woofers effectively double the cone area.

What surprises many people is how much more amplifier power is needed to get 3dB increase in sound output.

So if one 10 inch woofer supplied 100 Watts yields 100dB and I want to make it sound twice as loud (+3dB). Doubling the power to 200 watts will not do it, I need to supply the single woofer with 1000 Watts of power (10x more)The reason for this drastic increase in power is because the decibel scale as it relates to sound output is a logarithmic function, meaning factors increase by powers of 10.

In summation running two subs is always more efficient to runninng and a single sub and will play louder with less power than a single sub. There are a few other benefits to running two subs like standing wave rejection and transfer function interaction in a car audio environment.

Now I omitted on purpose any mention of impedance in relation to amplifier load to simplify the example.
