What's up everyone. I have a 2011 ta coma access cab. I'm looking to do a slight body lift to it and can't really figure out on my own what lift kit will be most reliable. I am also looking to put a light bar in the grill of the truck, and would like to hear anyone's idea of a qualiquality light bar and the pros and cons of them. Thanks!

May I ask why you want a body lift? Most people on here are going to tell you to stray away from them.

The standard for light bars is ridgid industries, but they are expensive!

Fab fours front and rear bumpers, B.A.M.F. weld on rock sliders, softopper, removed mud flaps and D-Badged everything. Icon 2.5 Extended Travel coil-overs, Total Chaos upppers, 2.0 Icon extended travel shocks with the resi's and Dekar Leaf packs.
There is so much stuff you can do and it all depends on how much you want to spend and what you want to do with the truck, function and driving wise. What are some of the things you have been looking at, as far as parts? I've got a B.A.M.F. light bar behind my grilland its nice, Ive just never put anything on it yet :(

I don't own a light bar (not practical for my every day commuter build) but from what I've heard, Rigid industries makes very good, reliable ones - if you're willing to invest some $$.

Advice on body lift: don't do it. For a few extra dollars and the same amount of effort (possibly same money), you can get a good entry level suspension lift. For example, my first lift (1.5" top hat and Deaver AAL) on my current tacoma cost me $92 including shipping. I found it all on this forum. The install cost me a 6 pack of beer to my helper and 3 hours from start to finish (plus alignment). This is basically a cosmetic lift that adds almost nothing to towing and offroad capabilities.

Bay Area Metal Fab (BAMF) sells the behind the grill setup you're looking for.

Yeah I figured a body lift would be cheaper and would give the more aggressive of a look I'm going for. This is my first truck so I'm new to everything when it comes to lifts, accessories, and what not. So basically a suspension lift would be the way to go? From what I've heard suspension lifts cut down on gas mileage, etc. But functionality wise it would make more sense from what you guys are saying

As far as light bars are concerned I've just browsed the Internet briefly due to not really knowing what brands I should be looking into to get pretty good quality

    Rigid ($$$$$)
    Blitzpro / OKLED ($$$)
    Ebay bar ($)

Personally from a lot of reading I've done on light bars I'll be doing a $200 ebay 50 inch light bar on my truck soon. No freaking way I'm paying $1600 for a Rigid light with the same output, I'll take the risk on it

Probably not the best video to showcase a rigid industry bar vs a cheap Chinese knock off but it really shows you the difference. You get what you pay for when it comes to these led bars, but like stealth taco i am having a hard time justifying the money for it :(.

A body lift will definitely be cheaper than a really good, functional lift. I've always thought body lifts are garbage so I've never priced them. Old Man Emu (OME) makes a very good product at a reasonable price that will easily last as long as the factory stuff. There are a lot of good deals in here on second hand Billstein (usually the 5100) or OME shocks paired with varying coils. AAL (add a leaf) show up all the time as well.... You just have to be patient and have cash ready. I've always worked with the philosophy of do it right or don't do it at all because in the end, you're gonna end up spending the money anyways so you might as well only do the work once. I'm pretty sure you won't find more than a handful of body lift fans here.

Your best bet is to hold off on the body lift and do a lot of reading and independent research on here to get as much info as possible so you can make the best decision.

This thread should be moved out of the classifieds.
OP, how much lift are you thinking to do along with your main purpose for the truck? If for costs, you should look to lift with front Bilstein 5100s and rear progressive AAL.
Besides the ugly gaps, exposed frame, and having the structural integrity of the body being held to the frame by pucks and extended hardware, I guess body lifts are ok.

You can spend about $300-400 on a good 3" suspension lift and about $100-200 for a good light bar depending on your wants. I started off with a used lift and actually still have a used lift. Started off with spacers, and now I have all pro leaf springs and billies all the way around I got for $500. You'll find something, but I dont do body lifts.
