I'm visiting friends up in the mountains. I'm enjoying it. Sadly it all melted off already, but it's trying to snow more.

 

Finally read the fuel pressure correctly. Key on, engine off, fuel pump running.

Remove c/open relay, jump the two load side pins, turn key on(engine off), read fuel pressure (standard 281-287kPa or 40.8-41.7psi).

 

So now to find where your losing pressure?

For the DCSB you have to drop the tank to access the fuel pump. I thought I might have been able to raise the bed but no dice. It does make it easier to disconnect the filler neck, fuel disconnect, and red cap vent hose.





Instead of using the supplied butt connectors I pulled the "spade" connectors out of the Walbro plug and spliced new "spade" connectors onto the stock wiring for a cleaner look.









Just checked fuel pressure:
Key on engine on


Key on engine off


Key off pressure drops back to 0psi
More details on issue here. Either a clamp is loose or too tight and cutting the hose.

Bench test results pending for old stock fuel pump. I'm looking to definitively determine what caused the lack of pressure. URD and others suggest that the stock fuel pump filter gets clogged.

"Bench test Fuel pump results. With filter-45 psi, 6 amp draw, 120 lph flow. W/o filter- 45 psi, 6 amp draw, 128 lph flow. Pump electrical connector has loose contact to pump termonals, had to hold during test."

So it looks like the filter being clogged wasn't decreasing the pressure. The loose connector could have caused higher current load and dropped the psi..

 

Looks like I found what I need to make my air compressor work correctly. Will update when the parts arrive and are installed.

The UPS tracking was from a package from my brother, the other boxes here.

 

It's complete. Took out the combined one-way unloader and put in an electronic solenoid valve. I added a gauge while I was at it. The next time I mess with it I'll add an ARB Locker and safety blow off valve (to manually bleed off "tank" pressure).
