    Haven't drained it, not due yet. The dipstick looked normal. I don't ever recall this must sludge though in the over 100k miles I've put on it. I may have a head gasket issue and am wondering if this is a sign it's getting worse.

    No that's Normal my cap has same thing just make sure your oil is black when it comes out and if it looks like chocolate milk then you have a problem

    Had the same thing on my truck for the first year, then I started using Lucas Oil Stabilizer for the 1/2 qt that's needed to top off, and haven't seen that stuff since.

    Mine looked like that when I changed the other day, seems normal. My bmws get way more and they say it's normal, especially in cold climate
