The Tacoma is a pretty well built truck. I mean yeah they really need to bring a new generation into production already. I like my 2013 but it really irks me how Toyota didn't even update anything like a new engine or even a 6 speed automatic.

I thought all 2012+ Tacoma's were built in the US, but when I bought my 2013 I saw that big 3 at the beginning of the VIN. Although, I haven't had any issues with her yet, and the fit and finish is great so I don't expect any issues with her being born down south.

AFAIK the only thing getting made in Mexico on the newer trucks is the composite bed. Mexico has less strict air quality regulations thus making it cheaper / easier to manufacture.

    Things I need to tow.
According to Wikipedia, the Tijuana plant builds V6 DC models (in addition to the composite beds used on all models). My '14 V6 DCLB was built in Tijuana and I'm pleased with the workmanship.

Weird. I have a DCSB that came out of Texas. The Wikipedia article listing the manufacturing for the Mexico plant was last updated in 2006. The Texas one implies that all manufacturing since 2011 has been done there. I wonder if they are only doing the DCLB's in Mexico?

So far, the build quality seems traditional Toyota although I have only logged 850 miles on the 2014 PreRunner.
