Well I fixed mine only running on high and it was the harness making poor connection. The resistor was fine. Fritz, is your wife AT2 in 65B FRCMA?

My fan motor stopped working - the fan switch did nothing, not even on high. Then it worked intermittently. Then it might work if you jiggled the wires under the glove box.

Even took it to the dealership and it worked for them so nothing was done. It failed on the way home.

I crawled under the dash and found that the white connector into the blower motor was fried. It was blackened on one side like an electrical short. I bought the harness kit to replace this and a new blower motor from Toyota and am happy to say that it is solved. It works on all settings.

I think my problem was that passengers kept kicking the wiring. I also used zip ties to secure the wiring up on the plastic piece that holds the glove box hinges.

I purchased a 2007 Tacoma in Oct 2014. The hvac blower ran fine until last week-end when I noticed it only worked on the high speed. I found the fix on this Forum. First, thanks to all who made postings concerning this issue. I took the resistor out and noticed the burned wire. I cleaned both the male and female sides and put it back together and it works fine. However, I feel this is only a temporary fix. My question is, has Toyota ever intiated a Technical Service Bulletin on this issue? In my searches I could not find one. I appreciate any responses.

No sir not that I'm aware of. Fan resisters are one of those parts that just fail regardless of car manufacturer. Unless it causes some safety issue they are not like to issue a TSB.

A Ninja Racer, thanks for your reply. I would think that if so many Tacoma owners are having this same problem at one time or another, Toyota would say the wiring is defective and offer a fix even though it may not be a safety issue.

Took my climate control switch off to install usb charger in place of lighter and found connector and switch evidence of over heating. Will try to clean and tighten terminal connection
