Her name is Candy and shes a dancer.

My point is that if you can afford it then you shouldnt have to justify it. If it needs justifying and butt kissing then maybe you shouldnt be buying it. Or you are pussy whipped and your balls are in her purse. Only reasonable justification would be "I want it and can afford it, it will make me happy to build up my truck"

I can afford tons of mods for my truck. But the fact is that sometimes my wife is the voice of reason and gets me away from the excitement to remind me that there are other things to pay for that we don't NEED to but we could use

See that's how a relationship works. Trust me. I could mod my truck all day long and stay out of debt but I need to re gravel my driveway, stain my porches, build my daughter a playhouse, etc... Sometimes that new Softopper or lift will push those from my mind.. And my wife is there to remind me of them. Not in a nagging way, but to bring my brain back to reality

Exactly. Or in my case with my fiancee; save for our wedding, buy a house, etc.

Blowing off your family to dump money into your truck doesnt qualify as being able to afford tons of mods for the truck.

A suspension has a lifespan. It will eventually wear out and need to be replaced. Replace it sooner with more capable parts to make your truck safer. Getting a lift kit and bumper is cheaper than getting a quad and improves the value of your truck. You can sell your used parts if you want to recover part of the cost. The stronger bumper will make the difference between being stranded in a broken down truck with a smashed in rad, or driving home with a truck bed full of venison.

I can afford to build up my truck and would like to build my tuck. But, because I love my wife I put her happiness before my own. True love is selfless. The vast majority of people in this country subscribe to your way of thinking. I have learned through bitter experience that material things do not matter. They are fleeting and will not last. Why not let your significant other feel that you truly care about their opinion. Even if you can "Afford" it.

Lol love that one. My cousin literally married a redhead named tiffany with a tattoo.

You are misinterpreting my post. Im not talking about draining accounts into you truck, I am talking about a suspension upgrade and a bumper. If you can afford it why shouldnt you get it? If she loves you she will want you to have it, that love is selfless line is a 2 way thing. I do care about her opinion, but why should I be restricted from buying something I want if it is within the budget?

While I agree with you to a point. What works best for us is to make our decisions jointly. And believe me I do get what I want the majority of the time. I have put an ungodly amount of money into my jeep. But, she doesn't feel that the truck should be another toy. And, while it pains me I make the decision of showing my love for her. Rather than going ahead with the upgrades I want.

Well there you go. You already have a built up toy, so you cant get too greedy. Totally agree with ya, get what you want most of the time (within budget) but dont push it too hard and get out of line.

Not at all blowing off my family. My home is fully functional but we want new fixtures the the old ones are ugly, we wanted new carpet cause it's ugly, we want to replace our appliances cause they are ugly.. But I could easily put those things off for my truck cause everything in my home is functional.
That's just how it works in my mind. I want more guns, to mod my truck, etc.. But with my wife she helps me balance out my spending. If I was left to my own free will honestly I would just put everything on the back burner to buy guns and truck parts.. It would be unfair to her. I'm the only one that works and I make plenty of money to support us and have hobbies but I need her to remind me sometimes that I'm not the only one that wants new things.

Happy wife = Happy Life! Spoil her as often as you can forever. Put her 1st and you will never need permission for anything including your truck build.

I'm still married to my girlfriend 32 years and counting.

A girl friend/ wife's job is to literally stop you from doing stupid things. Answering to a significant other doesn't mean you're a broke pussy, it just means you're smart. Only took me one year of a high school-college relationship to figure that one out. ;)
