    hey, I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma.

When I have all the doors closed the interior light on the top of the roof stays on. And the door open light on the dashboard stays on too. Any ideas how to fix this?

Also, Since this is happening my key fob to unlock and lock doors is having problems. It will unlock the door with the key fob. But it wont lock the door if I push the button on key fob.

Sounds like a bad door switch. I had this problem on my last chevy. I would check each door individually.

ditto, i had that problem once, to buy time for couple days until i could get the new switch i used few sheets of cardboard to make a little pad and duck taped it over switch so that when door closed to made enough force to trigger the switch and kill the light.

ok. ive been trying but still cant get light to go off. Is this the door switch your talking about. I have a picture posted.

Is the switch on the left or right in the pic?

I tried pushing it all holding it down and light still on.

On my truck, it's the switch on the left. Once you push it it takes about 30 seconds for the light to fade out. I tested it to see if that was it.

Try unbolting it, and short the wires together. Wait 30 seconds for light to fade.

You could use a paperclip shaped into a U and plug that into it. It's just 2 wires, correct. I would definitely verify so as not to short out anything that shouldn't be.

its hard to see but kind of looks like only 1 wire.

is there only 2 door sensors on the front doors? any sensors on the back?

Double cabs have switches at each door.... access cabs do not have then at the small doors.

Is it an access cab? I had this happen and the access cab door was not closed completely and the light would not shut off.

That wouldn't make the "door open" light in the dash cluster stay on. ;)

Okay, I'll admit it, that was my first thought too.
