Help my fix my office door handle!

So the office I was given was used as a flex office and the mechanism was set to not latch and I cant figure out how to put it back. See picture below. The door handle is of the not locking variety.



Right now I don't think there are any tools in the office.

 

May need to replace the whole door

 

Probably a pin of some kind in the mechanism.

 

In all seriousness , although that exact lock set I haven't seen before Peerunner is right usually there is a pin you press in

Have you tried depressing the outer portion of the actual latch mechanism shown in the pic ?

ie push in on the parts in the edge of the door

 

There are pinholes in the office mechanism next door. Let me grab a picture

 

I would just start by taking it apart to examine in. Just take note of diss-assembly so you know how to put it back together.

 

You don't need to take it apart , if the hardware is designed to have a bypass it should be simple to disengage it

It's a lock that can't be opened from the inside ?

 

That's what I figured but there is no no indication of how it's supposed to come out. There are no slots or anything. Anyone know if it takes a special tool?

I see pinholes here for some sort of lock but how do I release it on my side?

 

There are no holes in the handles of any sort.

 

Seriously , did you try to push in the latch in the door edge ?

Does the inside handle push in to engage the mechanism ( inside of room when closed ) ?

Is there a pin hole in the centre of the either handle ?

 

That inner section of the latch is the key to your problem , gotta figure out how that releases

Found this. Tried sticking a paperclip in it but there is nothing it falls into. No notches or anything

 

It would be easier if I was standing there but seeing as it's in the depressed position in his office , I'm going to say that the hole doesn't release it , probably push in

 

Is that an allen key ?
