    Hello All,

Been lurking for a few months, just wanted to say thanks for all the useful knowledge and tips - hope to pay it back in the future.

I've owned several Toyota pick ups and 4Runners in the past, but never bought one new until July this year. I have a two state field territory for work and get reimbursed (fairly) for a vehicle, hence, me owning a new Silver Sky Tacoma. Contrary to what I have always bought in the past, I purposely went with a slushbox (mpg) due to the extensive interstate travel I do. And reliability.

In addition to the work miles, the kids and I take this truck into the mountains nearly every weekend and go trail riding and/or camping. This truck gets used heavily and I look forward to seeing how it holds up compared to a 1st gen 4Runner I had that was still going strong at 300k when I sold it.

I took delivery of the truck on July 17 this year and the odometer shows over 20,200 today. Yikes!

I have installed BFG All Terrains 265/75's, topper, oe bed mat, tinted front windows, debadged, de-mudflapped, led interiors, Husky floor liners and Scangauge 2. My mileage dropped when the price of gas dropped lol, I'm averaging about 16.5 right now.

Can't upgrade suspension yet, working with Toyota on my 15-25mph vibration (it's bad) - don't want them blaming a lift.

Looking forward to driving the crap out of this truck and modding it to suit our every need. Thanks again to all!!

Welcome BRIANRRIDE. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who drives the heck out of his new Tacoma. I bought a new one in Jan 2012 and I just hit 100,000 this past week. I love the truck and plan to drive it for 300,000 miles!!!!

I thought that I drive toooooo much...25 months old and she is at 39k miles now....and WOW, you hit 100k miles in less than 36 months.......

    BRIANRRIDE,

You will be the next champ in the 350k miles club.......Can you keep this thread updated regularly? I want to see how that goes when you hit 3 years anniversary....

Holy smokes... 1k miles a week WOW! I bought my '14 on 6/24/14 and haven't even hit 5k. I know, I barely drive the thing compared to some of you guys. LOL

Good luck with the vibe issue.

Well, I am about to do the same, primarily because I cannot stand the dealer touching my truck. I have just gotten the run around time and time again on everything I have brought to their attention.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Nice looking truck!

Not sure if you folks get the same crap winter gas back there that we get in California. Winter is always good for a 2-3mpg drop where I live.

    Update:

Took delivery of truck on 7/17/2014 and today it has 32,204 = 143 miles/day.

Adding up quick. Only issue has been low speed vibes - denied by Toyota last week. Ordered small lift, will install this Sat.

Yeah I went to Toyota on my vibe issues too. They just wont fix it. Let me know how the lift works out. Maybe it might solve that issue.

Gosh if I was driving that much I think I would have purchased just about anything other than a Tacoma.

Curious as to what you do for a living? I'd love a job where I got to drive my personal vehicle and be reimbursed. I used to have a job like that and miss it even though I'm only 7 miles from home now. Your 2 state territory wouldn't happen to be TN and GA would it? Haha.

    Why?

I traded in a commuter car (Matrix) for my Tacoma and have no regrets. Much more comfortable to drive. I guess its all relative
