How much should rear shocks compress with unloaded bed?

    In other words, if you unbolted the bottom mount on a rear shock absorber, how much should it ideally rebound/extend until max extension? FWIW, this is on a Gen 1 Prerunner, the leaf pack has been rebuilt. I'm not ordering new shocks based on this measurement, I'm just trying to get a rough idea.

    talking about stock shocks? Maybe 8" travel so figure 4 up and 4 down if you are sitting right in the middle of the band. Unbolt it and find out.

    That's it, just split the difference? As I figured, my "back to stock height" leaf set is way oversprung. Shock extenders, here I come.
