I just bought an 02 Tacoma 4x4 Limited TRD in Lunar Mist with a chrome front grille that is showing some wear. I have found some places online selling a "Silver" aftermarket grille and you can buy "Silver Trim" side marker lights as well. Rockauto.com has the grille and most likely the side markers, but I'm wondering if anyone has bought these?

The OEM Lunar Mist grille is about $225. This aftermarket grille is like $40 in silver. Seems too good to be true, but I just gotta ask.

My grill was chrome also but I just sanded it a little , then primered it and painted it . If its not cracked or dried out then you should be able to just repaint it to your liking and save some money , if you want a new drill Amazon has after market grills for a good price .

I did consider sanding and painting the pieces, but then I'd have to buy base and clear to do that. I'm not the best painter in the world, which is why I was wondering if the SILVER version of the grille is just like a matte silver or what?

I painted mine and i think it came out great. I dont have a huge amount of painting skills but you would have to be about 3 ft away to tell that I painted it. Also did the corners.

That looks nice. Did you use HVLP or from a spray can?

Duplicolor spray paint perfect match primer paint and gloss. I would recommend two cans of gloss instead of the one i used. Wish i had more of a clear coat.

Grey wire and keyless entry. I like stock.
Curious, where did you get that badge?

It's a Toyota FJ60 badge. Look that up and there are a lot of links where you can buy it.

Cool. How did you get the grill to stick to the corner hutch?! What is your mpg with the hutch on the hood? Looks like a large amount of cutting to get the hutch behind the grill.
