Just had a set of 265/75/R16 General Grabber Red Letters installed on my stock steel wheels. Truck looks so much better with a meaty tire. Going to try them offroad, rocks and mud, tomorrow once I get out of class. Any suggestions or anything special I should do with the tires? Should I paint my wheels until I get new ones this summer?

They are styled after desert racing tires, and are very heavy. I fell in love with them on sight alone... but because they were not yet available in our size (265/75-16) I didn't get them at the time. Let us know how they do in your very non desert location! I have not heard favorable comments from those who got them, sadly.

I took about an hour between classes today to go out to the local place where we go wheeling, Big Murph it's called. There is a dusting of snow on top of the rocks, mud, and other various terrains but the tires performed flawlessly through everything that I put them in, even stopping in the middle of a big mud puddle that was covered in ice and starting again it just pushed me right out of the hole. When I have more time I will spend more time testing them out. I tried to kick the truck sideways on some of the turns that I used be able to go sideways through but the truck would just grab and make the turn super tight. Love them so far!

I love mine, The only REALLy bad thing is Snow and Ice.
If you wheel in mud, you do need a little more wheel spin to help clean them out,
Rock and sand their great! Their super tough and have yet had any incidents that require a repair. We have a Ton of Logs, sticks, stumps, sharp rocks here

Know the limitations of the tire on ur truck, learn how it handles and know how to deal with them

Here are a couple pics of mine the day after I got them installed. Can't wait to get my SCS SR8 wheels whenever they're released from the shipping port

So last night I traveled 2.5 hours in snow covered roads the whole way with these tires. Never had to put truck into 4wd except when I was pulling into deer camp. I was amazed with the traction they got in up to 4 inches of snow on the roads.

Great to hear, and perfect for you!

As for desert/ beach running, in talking to guys who have them on Raptors, they did not do well in sand... Maybe it was more of a Raptor thing, but they were professional off road racers and fabricators...? None got flats, only the guys running BFG All Terrain TAs had sidewall failures!

I've got 33" red letters installed earlier this month, but I have yet to test them off road. Once I get the time I'm going to explore Maryland. I'm anxious to see how they do when it starts to snow.

Really love the look of the tires although I do mainly highway with some snow and mud on the weekends, planning a few beach trips so will be adding sand to the mix as well. You think it would be possible to get these tires sipped for better snow traction?

Not sure....mine have done great in the snow. Also, in the mud and sand they are amazing tires. I can go about anywhere now. I've tested them in about every scenario on and off-road and they perform flawlessly.

I prefer the AT2s over the red letters for a more "all around" tire. The red letter tires look great though!

Damn, that's rough. Not sure why but mine seem to perform a lot better than I have heard from others about theirs in the snow. As for off-road they are amazing!

Yeah I am probably going to go with the AT2s for my winter tires on my stock wheels when I get my new SR8 wheels and put the red letters on them.

Not sure what the tread difference is between red letter and AT2, but my AT2's are great on snow and ice.

Im going to be taking a sipping tool to them or pay a shop to do it for me if i don't have time. Besides the icy snowy alley, their not bad tires and wicked for highway driving.

Wait Grabber red letters are actually good on the highway? Is that like comparatively or are they good by normal standards?

Yeah they aren't bad at all. Not too noisy, that is for an offroad tire. But highway driving does wear them down pretty quickly.
