Wheel Offset and Backspace question

    Hi everyone, I was wondering if a fuel krank wheel that is 17x9 With a 5 inch backspace and a +1 offset would fit on my trd off road short bed tacoma, i'm putting them on a 265/70/17 goodyear duratrac. They're one of the few tires that fit a 9 inch wide wheel and is a 265, and I'm doing a 3 inch 5100 bilstein toytec lift with 2 inches in the back.

    Most people who posted having those wheels have the 4.5bs -12mm offset version. Not sure if the 5bs +1 offset version will work.
    Tires should be fine.

    They'll be fine for the 265 series tire, but if you ever want to run a 285, you'll want the 4.5" back spacing

    The problems will start if you go bigger than the 265/70/17 since it runs like crazy. A buddy has those and has had to replace two flares do to rubbing.

    This is true. Mine are 17x9 -12 & 4.5" bs, with 285's I can just slide my hand between the tire & spindle. Im sure with +1 & 5" bs anything over 265 will rub on the spindles.

    I just ordered 285/70R17 tires on 17x9 fuel kranks from a local shop that told me that I wouldnt be able to fit the -12 offset and that I would have to go with +1. I actually really wanted to run the -12 to get a deeper lip

    Now I'm so confused. Two different shops told me 3" wasnt enough for 285/70 and -12. My guess is they arent willing to do anything if it requires any trimming.
