Just in the last week, my cruise control hasn't been setting. The light will come on, but it won't set. It will keep decelerating. Whenever I hold the RES/ACC button (not whenever I just press it), its slowly creeps to the speed where I attempted to set my cruise control on. I've tried wiggling the connectors to the box under the passenger side dash, but still no luck :( It has been working fine until this past week. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

Check the cruise control modle under the hood? Passenger side it has a cable running to the throttle body.

I checked all of the connections... They seem tight. Anything in particular I should look for?

Mine as well doesn't engage. The Cruise light comes on, but it does not set.

Mine does the same thing. I know the on/off portion of the hand control is a momentary switch. Not sure if the set button is the same. I am gonna take mine apart this weekend and I will let you know if I find anything.

I found the issue with my cruise control not working. The clutch pedal is not coming all the way forward when disengaged, so the cruise does not set. All i have to do is bring the clutch pedal forward with my foot. Probably a spring issue that I'll definitely look into.

A faultly brake switch (that dis-engages, but not shuts off the CC) could also be the culprit.

Near the top of the brake pedal. That switch also triggers the brake lights.

My brake lights are working normal and are fine. Could the brake switch still be the problem?

On a non-CC truck, that brake switch assembly only has one internal switch, and only uses 2 wires. On a CC truck, that assembly contains an additional internal switch, and uses 4 wires. You could remove that assembly (awkward to get at) and bench test it.

Of course, the CC switch (normally closed) works the opposite from the brake switch (normally open).

Have you verified the brake/clutch switches are functioning correctly?

My brakes/brake lights are working perfectly normal, so I have no idea what it could be.

I was thinking maybe it would be a fuse problem, but the light on the cruise light still comes on??? I still need to investigate the brake switch, but I have a feeling thats not the problem because my brakes work fine... Would bringing it to the stealership help any?

I don't think you understand the brake switches. Re-read my earlier post.

Within the same switch assembly, there are TWO SEPARATE INTERNAL SWITCHES operated by the brake pedal. Stepping on the pedal closes the BRAKE LIGHT switch (turning on the brake lights) ... and at the same time it opens the CRUISE brake switch, shutting off power to the CC circuitry.

The brake light half of the switch is working fine. Your problem COULD BE that other internal switch not working, or a disconnected wire in that wiring.

Alright. Ordered the part and finally got it in from my Toyota dealership. Is this the right part? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1419366211.595026.jpg
