Hey guys I have a 2009 Tacoma access cab and am having trouble thinking of a good way to install subs into the back of my truck. I really want 2 10s but with the space provided that seems pretty tough. Anybody have ideas as to installing subs while still conserving the use of the back seats.

Maybe if you ditched the underseat storage. My PO had a box built that goes behind the driver seat and is just right so you can still open it for the underseat storage. It's got bullet connectors so you can put it in and out in 20 seconds or less.

I can help you figure out exactly what and how ud wanna do it if ur willing to do a little " custom " work :) Have you maybe considered using 8s or a single 12. I have some ideas for both of those with a centre console

I am using a single ported JLW8v3 and it's louder than you could possibly want when properly driven. I had a custom box built that fit in the same space as the factory sub did, so it is under my OEM sub box cover and you'd never know there is a real box back there. When I was exploring options I contemplated using a 10, or even 2 shallow mount 10s, but the ported 8" hits harder and cleaner.

Also, if you're going to do it, invest in some dynamat or other sound deadening, because the doors and materials on the tacoma are so thin, the truck loses a LOT of sound to movement of the door skins and internal panels, putting dynamat on all my doors and ceiling made a HUGE difference in sound quality in the cabin of the truck.

JL audio stealth box sounds great. Little pricing but puts out great base if you don't mind giving up a little space in your center console.

I've got a 10" mounted in my center-console, works perfect and looks clean. Takes up a lot of space in the console, but worth it compared to the other options.

u can slide an 8" under the passenger seat and lose zero space.

What if you took those flat subs like that and made a carpeted box that takes up the floor in the back, covering it. That would be strong enough to put weight on so you dont loose the passenger space, just makes it a bit more uncomfortable. The smallest guy always goes back there anyway...

A 6" Bazooka tube will fit in front of the rear AccessCab seats if you put it on the floor.

I had test fit one in mine and was still able to fit in the back seats without having too much reduced space (and I have size 13 feet).

What kind of custom work did you have in mind, as far as the box design? Two 8s if possible sound like a good route as well, just not sure how deep they will be able to sound.
