That's the key, working there..try bumping it .5 for a quarter mile after you get going for a while. I pulled that off easier than I thought when I started..that's 60 pounds heavier with a junk knee too..

I usually do 2 miles at 2.8mph. At 4 incline i would burn 300 calories..bumping to 5 got me 320. It all helps..but of course if you want to get faster that is another story. Me, I'll never be able to jog much less run so that's not a focus.

That's what I'm working on, the treadmill. I used to be able to run 2 miles without slowing down. I started screwing up my knee and stopped running. Never got back into it. Now trying to build back up and lose weight at the same time. On a good note, I miss the gym on the odd days.

I can't bump 0.5 on the treadmills I use at home unfortunately. Once I get back to school I should be fine tho.

My goal for the 5k is because of a stress test I have coming up in 5 months. My doc said if there is any change from the last one I took (3 years ago in 200x better shape than I am now) that I'll have to start talking to the surgeon. Well 3 years ago I completed the whole stress test.. So now I have a lot of work to do.

Even if you don't keep it at the higher level just do it time to time, it helps prepare you. Try starting off at half a mile at 3 and then bump it 1 for a quarter mile or as long as you can, even if you back the speed off a hair.

My right knee has zero cartilege anymore, hasn't at least 3 years now. I learned that early 2011 when it locked up on me, bursitis sucks..6 wks on crutches. Swimming accident when I was 15, ugh..not sure exactly of the left knee but it can't be great from holding up the junk one all this time..not to mention being anywhere from 70-120 pounds overweight the past 20 or so years.

Use small weight dumbells on the 'mill if you want, that is what I started on..just 5 pounders before I bought my weight bench. I made myself do them for the first mile so that's about 20 minutes..did that 3-4 weeks to prove to myself I'd stick with weights before investing the $200 on my bench and bars.

Bursitis sucks ball sack! Made a diving play during a baseball game in high school. Woke up the next day and couldn't move my right shoulder. Mine only lasted for a week, though.

But you DID make the catch right? :)

Mine hit me early Feb 2011..right in snow and ice season, the best time. Still had to shovel snow like that, no way I will let my wife do it with a bad back.

They wanted to give me cortisone shots but I said hell no..hard as it was to get in my truck I was able to drive still. Between taking my father in law to dialysis twice a week, plus having to drive my wife around for 2 weeks following her shoulder surgery I could not risk being totally down.

Hell yea I made the play! 2nd baseman that ran a 4.5 40...I had the quickness. About 7 steps in the hole between first and second. Even opposing fans applauded that play. Haha. They just gave me pain meds and anti inflammatory. Missed 2 games, wasn't gonna miss the third. Took 2 Tylenol, a naproxen, and a 1000 mg ibuprofen before the 3rd game so I could play. I couldn't feel my arm during that game, but it ended up being one of my best of the year. Lol.

I was on about 1500 of NSAID a day with mine..fukkn sucked. I hate taking pills for pain, especially with my history of heavy drinking.

Mine was the perfect storm..cold weather in MA, ice/snow, 70 pounds overweight, not being able to take it easy at all. Plus that was when I learned I had zero cartilage in the knee.

27.5 minutes at 3.5 mph at 5 incline, 3 minutes of 5.5 mph at 5 incline then a 4 minute cooldown at 3.0 mph.

On another note I was way off on my meals today.. still have 784 calories left after dinner..

I don't even usually count calories on weekends. Probably should. But I just let it go.

There's some kid in here that smells like bigfoot's Dick. Every time he comes in. You can smell him across the gym. It's disgusting. I always want to just spray him with Febreeze.

Anyone tried the new C4 preworkout? Always used the previous one but I'm excited about the theacrine addition in the new formula.

I use C4 cause it's 2 for 1 at costco. It's fruit punch though, hate the flavor but like the price. I haven't tried the new one though. Not many fans of C4 on here, lol. I built up quite a tolerance and was at 1.5 scoops on the last cycle but I just cycled off and starting back up tomorrow so we'll see. If it's the same then once it's all gone I may try the new one but I'm more likely to try something else

x2. I usually take Saturday and Sunday to eat whatever I want on bulks. Yesterday, I ate a double bacon cheeseburger for lunch and pepperoni pizza for dinner :D

I hope it's stronger than the original stuff. I hate that crap.

In other news, guess what today is?!

The fiancee and I went to Gander Mtn yesterday and there was a dude in there and, as soon as I saw him, I whispered to her, well, I'm no longer the biggest dude in the store. Then I saw his lower body. My fiancee said he looked like a lollipop. This dude probably had 20" arms, was 1.5 times as wide as me and his legs looked like little strings hanging from his shorts. I just don't get it...
