    Lots...
Well, I'm not in the 255/85/16 owners club, but I'm very close to that...

I just bought 5 x 255/80/17 KM2s... Love how they feel, and the size is perfect!

Even though I have the front OME shocks, I have no lift because the previous owner of the shocks and bumper wasn't informed enough and bought the 885 springs instead of the 886...

But well, this is how my taco looks:

I just got some Cooper ST Maxx's installed. I was concerned about the load range riding rough, but they actually feel smoother than my previous tires (Michelin LTX AT2 31x10.50)

Very very nice! Had I not gotten my rims that is the size I would have purchased. Any issues with fitment? Looks like the trd sport rims tuck better.

    Lots...
    Thanks!

Actually I have 1.25 spacers, and they only rub a little in the inner part of the fender (where the mud flaps should go) when turning... But that's it, this week I'm going to test them in a 100% stock...

Today I drove 300 miles and loved them!

Don't know if this has been addressed before, but this kinda goes for anyone around central North Carolina, or who have been to Uwharrie before.

I have 8" wide rims, and want to go with 255/85r16s, ST Maxx to be particular. Around here we have clay and rocks, not much sand or flat land. I know the ST Maxx isn't gonna be a Bogger in the mud, but with such a narrow tire, what is everyone's outlook on 255s with rocks? I'd rather not fubar my wheels, even though it comes with the territory. Is there enough sidewall to keep the wheels flexed over the rocks instead of up against them when the right line has been taken?

ST or ST MAXX? Not sure what I want. Myis thtruck is an 09' with 50k miles on her. My commute to work is about a mile so those miles are 99% recreational. Most people say go with BFG MTs as I do like to beat on her on the weekends but I am a very avid camper as well. And im not trying to haul my 22' travel trailer 100 miles one direction on mud terrains, right? Im trying to think practical as im getting into my mid twenties, I have my first child going to be born the end of December and I don't want to spend foolish money on crazy mts that are not goin to last. Im runnin 285 duratracs now.

Also im running wheelers 16x8 steelies will i need spacers?

Very cool pics, I am very much leaning in the BFG MT direction. I have read a lot of positive things about them. Keep the great pics coming, hopefully I'll be in soon too.

Chunked a centimeter deep chunk of sidewall out the other day. Probably moving to 35's in the next few days.

Just a flesh wound... boot it and it'll be fine. I've got a huge gash that blew out of my TSL boggers and it's held fine for offroad use after booting it.

35" tires would be great for off road but without a body lift you are in for a LOT of Big Hammer Modifications or cutting the steel fenders for more clearance. I changed to 4.56 gears on my Tacoma and could power 35's okay. Most guys that are on the 35" tire are running 315/75 x 16. Interco has a couple 35 x 10.50 x 16 tires which I would like to buy but they are nearly $400 each...

Please post pics when you go to 35's, cuz they look great!

My tires look much worse than that and I have been running them like that for a good 2 years now. Lots of lava rock around here to shred them. Last spring I destroyed a tire mobbing through a rough rocky section at about 60mph. Figured one of the gashes finally blew out... Nope... Destroyed my brand fucking new one that only had 2K miles on it:frusty: (stick took out the sidewall of one tire so I just replaced it with a new one).

Almost a year later I still have 2 of those cut up tires on the front end, but I still get excellent performance out of them in sand, snow and mud; so I'm in no rush to replace them even though they have almost no tread left.

For example, I was wheeling with a bunch of rigs last weekend and we had to cross a trench of sorts. It was super muddy and all of the other rigs (that ranged from having brand new tires to bald tires) got stuck in the trench and had to drive it out. I steered up at the turn out point and it climbed right out no problem:notsure:

I agree with Brady. These are a set of load range c Goodyear wrangler authority(duratrac). I had gouges/cuts down to the core and they never blew out. I regularly had them aired down to 15-18 psi too. Your tires week be just fine

    Just an update:

I recently drove from Tallahassee to Sarasota, FL and back (about 300miles each way). It seems that my odometer is off by 1 mile for every 20 (this is not exact but pretty close). I switched from 31x10.50s to the 255/85s. This equates to 5%. So now my speedometer and odometer are reading slightly slower than correct unlike before when it was reading slightly faster (I think most vehicles do this).

After calculating for the incorrect mileage, I was averaging about 19 mpg (mostly highway). When I used to take this trip I would be in the 22 mpg range.

I am still unsure if I want to try to correct the speedometer or not. I think I am more concerned with the odometer, but after all, it will make the truck worth more in the long run haha.

I have the same 255/80-17 KM2 and had them siped two weeks ago = huge beneficial difference.

When aired down in the PNW, they do very well.

Going into snow this coming weekend and am thinking that when aired down, the Yeti will perform well. I will report back...
