Yep mine does it every time I reverse. started at around 30K miles. It's loud and annoying. Thanks for all the tips. I will let y'all know what I break after I try to fix it. :)

I added the extra spring and it helped some. But with a firm 3" lift and running extra PSI in the tires it still clacks on bumps and when braking after reversing direction. So I just turn up the music! :rockband:

    Stock for now...
Mine does it after reversing or vice-versa the first time the brakes are applied . Pretty damned loud , too .
Guess I'll try the spring , probably have a pair from the Cruiser as their all about the same size/shape .

    Hey gang,

I might need to start a new thread for this but will these springs help my issue I'm having with my passenger side clicking as I go down the road? My ticking/clicking issue started after I did my front brakes (rotors and pads).

As soon as I apply the brakes whether it be hard or just barely touch the peddle the ticking goes away. As soon as I release the brakes it comes back immediately only on the passenger side. To me it seems the pad is tapping the rotor as it spins? Driving me nuts.

installed 2nd set of springs today, so far i feel like the constant click at low speed is gone, still makes a noise when i apply the brake.

also i noticed one of the factory springs was not assembled correctly on the passenger side ( sounded like that's where the noise was coming from to me) truck has 13 k on it so no brake jobs ever

look in the lower left :

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
I did my front brakes this weekend right past 50k on the OEM pads.

    1. Replaced with Akebono ACT976 Pads
    2. Had both rotors re-surfaced
    3. Replaced ALL the hardware (Caliper Pins, Anti-Rattle Clips, Cotter pins)
    4. Added (1) addtl. "Anti-Rattle" clip (spring) to the top of each caliper
    5. Greased everything (pads, shims, caliper pins)

My low-speed brake click is GONE!!! :D

My brakes are completely silent now, and more even/responsive with the pressure. No more squishy/spongey brakes, and no more pulsing from the rotors. They feel great, better than when I first bought the truck!

Complete front-end brake job for under $70?! Hell Yeah!!! :headbang:

correct me if im wrong cus i just developed a louder metalic click / bang. But it only seems to do it after i have driven the truck parked, let it cool, back out and go over a speed bump. I wonder if adding this clip would fix my issue.

Try it, it worked for my brake click. I had the same symptoms as you described.

$5 and 10 minutes later you will have your answer :)

I was thinking this was my click / tap when I apply brakes at low speed as well. Turns out the alignment tech didn't torque my LCA cam bolts properly after an alignment and one was hand tight. Torqued to 100 ft lbs (155 ft lbs for 2wd) and it went away. I also installed these anyway just in case and the noise hasn't come back. That was 6 months ago or so.

Installed new brakes on my truck, originals had 93k on them. Added the second spring and brake quiet spray and no issues yet. My brakes knocked quite a bit before.

Mine is making the same noise and it's driving me crazy! I ordered some new clips. They'll be here in a couple days and I'm hoping it'll solve the issue. If not I guess I'm only out $5. :fingerscrossed:

    quick mods so far
Yes, it was the brakes on my 2013. So for any of you looking for the fix, here is what I did. I replaced all 4 pins, replaced the two old springs and added two new springs on the top pads (total $20 from Toyota) . I also cleaned the squeal plates and removed any corrosion on the plates from the brake pistons using a razor blade. The pads still had 75% of the lining left....no need to change them.

    No more brake click.
