TRD Exhaust Rattle

Just went through the same thing on a 2015 Tacoma and after dealer inspection was informed they all do it to a certain degree. Mine is at low rpm take off. Was advised to contact Toyota with the concern and maybe they will make a fix " if enough people complain".

 

Mine also makes noise at the joint where it is bolted. It didn't in my 14'. Changed the doughnut, it didn't help. It only rattles when I hit pot holes etc though.

 

Called Toyota today and they said not enough complaints about it at this point to address it. Never thought I would here that from Toyota.

 

I had this annoying problem on my 2.7. I ended up getting under and prying a kink into the exaust shield. This tightened the looseness of the heat shield and the rattle went away. The bolts get pretty hard to deal with after all the heat mixed with road water causing corrosion, so the bend seemed to work.

 

Reviving an old thread. Mines doing it to. Didn't think about the bolts holding the exhaust hangers. It got better after replacing the gasket.
