    Bump for a question.

I ordered my Elite a year ago and finally tracked Tim down two months ago. He built my bumper and I picked it up a few weeks back after it getting shipped across the lower 48. It weighs 97 pounds alone and my winch is about 87-90 pounds for those curious. I've got 881s on 5100s and it's a 2.7l. Hopefully I can level it back up easily.

But my question is this: is there any additional reinforcing that is recommended? I'm thinking about getting this
    http://www.addictedoffroad.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=73
and maybe a set of these
    http://www.addictedoffroad.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=288
I'd be looking at about another $190 shipped plus paying a welder to put it all together. My '99 needs the frame ends cut off and plates welded in as well, so may as well do it right.

@CD20H I like those signal lights. Are they led or an old school bulb?

Hey man love your bumper...just ordered my Relentless DIY with predator tubes and was it hard to weld together? How long did it take you? How did you cutout the holes to put the turn signals in? Thank You

From my experience, though not a kit, wasn't hard to weld. Practice on something similar, get you're welder all set up and have fun. Just remember to keep the bead even, and the closer in height to the metal the better. Less grinding is better grinding I'm my experience. Oh and buy a good flap disk. Makes life a whole lot easier.
Id also like to know. Maybe a hole saw? Did you cut it perpendicular to the front face or to the wing face? Very good looking :)

Let me just say it was a bitch. The parts are not cut to match perfectly. You would think that the pieces would go together like a simple puzzle. Nope. Some pieces had as much as a 1/4 gap between them once they were tack welded that I had to fill in and grind off just to keep the angles equal. The center grill guard pipe was bent wrong. One side had more of a angle than the other. So I had to go to a muffler shop and have them equalize the sides. Once they were the same, one side was longer than the other so I had to cut about a inch off one side. Which is why the center pipe is so low. Then you have all the angles. Weld on one plate was easy, make the other side look the same while keeping it centered on the truck was tough. Mine is not perfectly aligned but real damn close. It is one those massage it until it looks right type things. It takes A LOT of massaging to get everything centered and symmetrical. You have to stitch weld to keep everything from warping. So in between welding 1 inch at a time in multiple places and allowing them to cool down, I was grinding welds flat on the outside. It took me about 3 weeks working on it 3-4hrs after work everyday.

As for the holes for the signals, I had to figure out what would look good without looking tacky. So I went with the LED trailer signals lights. Once I had them it was simply measuring from the outside 4 inches, finding the center, scribing out a circle and cutting it out. I used a plasma cutter, but should have used a hole saw. It would have made a prettier hole.

I have to agree with you, I was hoping my kit wasn't perfect because of my inexperience.
I haven't had a chance to put the hoops on as I ran out of wire for my welder, but the main tube looks good, the headlight tubes are cut a little long though.

If it would have been my 5th one to do......it wouldn't have been so difficult. It was learning as you go. I can honestly see why Relentless has such a backlog on these plate bumpers. They are tough to build. But the end result is badass.
