    I just now own my taco and I would like to know more about it I have a 98 Tacoma exted cab with 2.7l 4x4. I would like to know what gen, trans size, gears, so I know what I have and need to get when they go out.

    I've done a mod or two
    That is a first gen (95-04 are first gen, 05-15 are second gen, 16-xx are third gen), since you have a manual the transmission is known as a W59 (more info on the W59 here, to find out your axle gearing find your door jamb sticker and read/decode the axle code.

    The example truck has an 8" ring gear, 4.10:1 gearing, and a 2 pinion spider gear setup
