Valve Cover Replacement - Question on Sealant

    Hey guys, I've got a replacement valve cover and gasket coming for my 2009 Tacoma V6 4.0.

    Question - do I need to use any additional products to seal the valve cover, or just use the gasket by itself?

    You'll be fine with the gasket by itself if you torque to the right factory torque specs. But it doesn't hurt if you throw on a little bit of RTV silicone. Permatex sells it in high temp grey or high temp copper:
