Deaver F67 on 02 Tacoma Question

    2002 Tacoma Double cab
    So im new to tacoma world but thought this would be the right place to get help on some questions I have First, Im finally starting the rear LT of my double cab as the front is already finished for now. I have all i need for the rear (Deaver f67, Shackles, bash plates, u-bolts, front hangers) but I'm still trying to decide on what shocks to go with, So far Im goin with king 2.5s triple bypass but what is the ideal valving/setup for these shocks to work the best with leaf springs and what length should I run 16" or 18"? I looked at Giants link killer shocks but in my opinion its a waste of money and i could get a better shock for the price they charge. Any input will help im starting the install at the beginning of the year so any advice on whats the best setup for these springs is appreciated.

    I have that setup with a Tundra axle and I got away with an 18" Icon OMEGA Bypass. I'm sure you can run a king/fox/SAW 18" if you cycle it all out. I didn't want to paint myself into a corner so I cycled everything first to see what kind of travel numbers i was seeing and made my shocks and shock mounts to fit what the springs could hang with.

    IMO its the way to go so you don't have to build around the shock but rather build to what your particular selection of parts and fab can achieve.

    Tacoma with some stuff melted to it
    Most use 16" and angle them forward a little to get more than 16" travel. Also the link killers cost more but they use race series bypass tubes, they are larger and bypass more than the prerunner series. You can valve them heavier and use the top area as a bump stop. For valving it really depends how much weight you will have, but on that same subject with a double cab you might want to look into deaver H70 or similar, the F67's tend to sag out pretty fast with much weight on them

    Thanks for the replies, I did end up going with 2.5 kings 18" shafts. Adrian did you install the leaf first and cycle all that and then find your placement for the shocks? Or did you cycle the leafs and shocks all at the same time. Hopefully that made sense lol

    Springs went on first. My truck isn't 100% straight so it took some time to get it perfect. It was tacked, cycled and redone until it was up to par. Then the shock mounts were designed and made round what the springs were yielding. No truck is exactly the same so it took some time to get it all done.
