Contemplating trading my 14, DCLB SR5 Prerunner for a 15 AC TRD OR 4wd

    http://www.townandcountrytoyota.com...harlotte-c77fa6430a0a00026505c40428ddacb3.htm

True price $30,291. I think this is a fair price for this truck, comments please.

Why would I do this......I don't need the DC, I fly solo in my truck 99% of the time, drive it for work mostly. We have a Camry for family stuff. I want 4wd, and have been kicking myself for not getting 4wd in the first place. I know I will take a hit on value of my trade vs. what I owe, I am OK with that, so long as I can fit into the payment that I am comfortable with.

That is a fairly good price if it has everything you want buy it. My suggestion is unless you don't like the look of the 2016 I would wait for more information it. If the 2016 takes off the 2015's will drop in price. Now the only problem with either of these scenarios is availability. In some areas it can be hard to get a deal on the truck you want if you can find the truck you want.

As Joe is saying, when the '16 comes out, you may get a better ( great ) deal on a '15. If you can't wait, that's a great truck.

if you only "need" 4wd look at an SR5 model instead of the TRD, will save you some $$$ and unless you plan to hit trails consistently you'll be fine. plus it still has BT for hands-free :)

I had a similar dilemma. Had an 05 AC Prerunner which was a great truck. Wanted a DC 4X but roll solo most of the time. Knew a redesign was coming out soon. I ended up pulling the trigger on a 2nd gen.

Why? Well, my 05 was (and probably still is to the new owner) a awesome vehicle. I would've kept it till it died if its a 4WD. Even thought about converting it. My feeling on the 3rd gen is its cool. But if this is the last truck I'll ever buy, I dont want the extra complexity of direct injection, atkinson cycle motor, & more electronics I can live without for a claimed additional 20-30hp and 2-3mpg better. I'd rather have something I can service moree stuff myself. Heck, when I drive my dads 1st gen, I dont notice any acceleration or mpg difference. I drove his truck for 2 months while waiting for my 2nd gen to come in.

That's a good price, I paid more than that for my 14.
I think I may have a few more accessories, but still a very good price.

I really want to see how everyone likes the '16 before I jump in. But, if a perfect little '15 AC TRD OR 4X4 trailer package auto trans came in at, like 29k, I'll jump on that.

I'm in the same boat. I am not allowed to buy a new truck until the wife gets a new car first. She wants a TDI Jetta which is a very nice car but I want my 2016 DCSB TRD OR now and she doesn't want a new car for a couple more years. AHHHHHH! Maybe I should just leave her and take my dogs...

I have an AC 4x4 and am happy. I went with the SR5 4x4 instead of TRD option and got all did the suspension TSB and got Bilstein shocks for free.

That is good price. I paid $30.6K + tax & Lic for my 2015 AC 4x4 AT TRD OR 16 days ago.

I too drive solo 95% of the time. I had a 2004 ExCab and it worked out really well for me so the AC was a no brainer. I wanted/needed the 6 foot bed, did not want to go to the long wheelbase and lose the TRD OR features.

The 2016 and 2015 are similar size, with minor exterior mods. The majority of mods are inside the cab. For me, I decided that the 3rd gen can work out the bugs on the 2016 and 2017 years. the additional electronics (like push button start) is nice, but tough to override in the woods. In 2018 if I need/want a DCSB, I will revisit.

Very nice. I really like the mag grey color best. I settled for the silver since I drive a dusty dirt road every day in the summer.
