WD-40 softens it quite a bit. dipyourcar.com sells stuff formulated to break down plasti-dip.

This is the dyc exclusive colors. Apparently the blaze colors fade. They're in the full spectrum colors on their site.

I'd be interested what happens with the plasti-dip on the calipers. I'm guessing it's going to burn off and self destruct since the calipers get so hot. Please report back and let us know how it's holding up. I painted my calipers with orange high temperature caliper paint.

    The wheel looks awesome!

Has anybody tried using the clear plasti-dip as sort of a clear-bra? Maybe the clear plasti-dip and then follow it up with the UV protectant glossifier.

I gave it a try yesterday, here are the results. I used 2 cans of clear plasti-dip and 1 can of glossifier.

I've thought about doing this. 3M makes a spray on clear bra kit, probably the same thing, and plasti-dip is cheaper. I'll be doing this to the Solstice in the spring:thumbsup:

yes just be careful if you spray your wheels with armor all, the armor all takes it off. But I've had it on my civic rims for over a year now until my wife curbed the rims and now I have to redo them.

Yeah I don't have it on my truck anymore but the best way to do it is by starting out with really light layers. It's a pain but with larger areas it looks the best.

Just experimenting with flexi dip myself. For God's sake please do not flexi or plasti dip your third brake light cover. I attempted to do this with painter's tape where I didn't want dip. The taped off part was fine as far as peeling it off when I was done. But the dip dried and started cracking in various places, leaving clear jagged lines throughout the cover. I re-coated several times, and initially applied it in several thinner coats, but still had problems. trying to remove the dip was awful. Peeling wasn't so bad, but there is a residue that I don't think will ever come off. I am now looking for another third brake light cover. Oh well, lesson learned.
